Feeding Guide (Rough Rule of Fin)
- 1 PlecoBitz per adult pleco over 10 cm
- 1 Bitz per ~5 juvenile plecos
- 1 Bitz per ~20 shrimp or baby plecos
💡 Tip: Split Bitz if you’ve got multiple grazing spots. This stops everyone piling onto one wafer and lets your plecos and shrimp graze more naturally. Remove leftovers after 6–12 hours.

Will PlecoBitz turn into sludge in my tank?
Nope. Bitz are slow-hydrating and hold together for hours. They break down in plecos, not into a green swamp.
Can shrimp and snails eat PlecoBitz?
Absolutely. Shrimp love the biofilm-friendly botanicals, and snails get in on the graze too. Everyone wins. Even Corydoras, Otocinclus and Hillstream Loaches
Why the leaves and husks?
Because plecos don’t live on fish meal, flour and prayers. Leaves and husk provide tannins, fibre, and natural texture — the stuff they evolved to rasp on.
Don't plecos need meat in their diet?
Not your bristlenose or other rasper types. They need algae and fibre first, with just a hint of insect protein. Carnivore plecos (like Hypancistrus or Pseudacanthicus) should look elsewhere for their steak dinner. (Try Insecti-chunx or Bug us about releasing PlecoBitz Carni+)
